HSA Sports Committee Goals

  1. Treat all students and parents engaging in sports programs fairly, consistently, professionally, competently, and with respect.

  2. Strive to provide an opportunity for all eligible children to participate regardless of athletic ability and talent.

  3. Accommodate various levels of athletic ability and motivation by evaluating the skills of eligible children and matching their skills to the appropriate level of challenge and competitiveness.

  4. Strive to provide eligible children an opportunity to experience how to:

    • Cooperate with others
    • Strive for excellence
    • Follow rules
    • Celebrate the thrill of victory
    • Graciously accept defeat.

  5. Through example and instruction, instill values in our children that promote fairness and honesty in all circumstances, compassion and respect for opponents, and the ability to handle challenging sports situations with honor and dignity.

  6. Recruit and field the highest quality volunteer coaches available.

  7. Serve as stewards of the tremendous sports facilities that Mary of Nazareth is blessed with.
